Rob Levine Named Connecticut Food Bank President & CEO

East Haven, CT – Connecticut Food Bank announced today the appointment of Rob Levine as President & Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Levine will lead a team of 4,500 volunteer and paid staff as they distribute 40 tons of food a day, enough to produce 46,000 meals, to people in need through a network of 700 partner programs. Levine joins the Connecticut Food Bank from the American Red Cross where he most recently served as Regional Chief Executive Officer for South Florida.

“The Board is looking forward to working with Rob to further Connecticut Food Bank’s mission to provide nutritious food to people in need,” said James Augur, Connecticut Food Bank’s Board Chair. “Rob’s leadership skills and talent for building strong community partnerships will serve Connecticut Food Bank well as it prepares to move its operations to our landmark new distribution center in Wallingford later this year.”

A native New Englander Rob began his career as a radio newscaster in Western Massachusetts after graduating from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He spent two decades as a professional sports executive starting as director of marketing and broadcasting for the Chicago Bulls and then moving to the NBA league office where he helped build a number of domestic and international business units ending his term as a senior vice president in the commissioner’s office. During his time at the NBA league office Rob and his wife Cindy lived in Fairfield County, they currently reside in Guilford.
