The Connecticut Food Bank is excited to share and support our member programs’ projects and activities during Hunger Action Month.

During Hunger Action Month in 2016, IHSP-Daily Bread Food Pantry challenged local businesses to donate pasta, spaghetti sauce and tuna for the chance to win a trophy made specially for the competition. Though there were winners in each category, all competitors were able to walk away knowing they’d made a difference in their community. “It has been a great way to engage many of the businesses and churches in town… [and] a fun way to secure items for the food pantry,” explains IHSP-Daily Bread’s Kathi Peterson. Last year, the competition brought in enough pasta and tuna to last the pantry from October to June. This year, they’re revamping the competition with a focus on soup.
