Thanksgiving for All

2007, Fill the Bowl, Yale

Thanksgiving for All is a series of events and food drives hosted and sponsored by local civic and religious organizations, charitable foundations, businesses, media and supermarkets which help Connecticut Food Bank make Thanksgiving special for thousands of our neighbors in danger of going without a holiday meal.

Yearly events include:

  • Bank of America's Turkey Tuesday
  • Big Heart at Big Y, sponsored by WATR 1320-AM
  • Fill the Bowl at ShopRite, sponsored by 99.1-PLR
  • Fill the Bowl at Yale, sponsored by 99.1-PLR, WTNH/NewsChannel 8, and Yale Athletics
  • Governor's Care and Share
  • KC-101's Stuff a Bus
  • The MADD Dash, sponsored by Connecticut's Mothers Against Drunk Driving
  • Star 99.9's Food for Friends at Stop & Shop
  • WDRC-FM's Traveling Caravan

After these events have concluded on Thanksgiving week, our member programs are able to pick up the makings of Thanksgiving dinner to serve to people in need. In 2007, "Thanksgiving for All" raised 25,298 turkeys and 529,522 pounds of ‘trimmings’ – enough for more than 407,325 meals for those in need during the holiday season.
