It’s all because this year’s Chowdafest is at Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. “Souper” Bowl Sunday, February 3.
Bring your appetite as 30 restaurants compete for your vote in the annual event that benefits Connecticut Food Bank.
More than 10,000 people are expected to fill the arena with soup spoons, pencils and ballots in hand to vote for their favorite New England Clam Chowder, Creative Chowder and Soup/Bisque. And if you have a favorite football team, you’re encouraged to show your team spirit by wearing a team jersey and even eye black!
Don’t forget a nonperishable food item to donate to Connecticut Food Bank so you can be entered into a drawing for a $200 Stop & Shop gift card! There’ll be entertainment, kids’ activities and a chance to meet Chef Quahog, the Chowdafest mascot!
So instead of watching pre-game TV coverage all day, why not warm up with some great soups, have fun and help your hungry neighbors who rely on Connecticut Food Bank and our network of soup kitchens, food pantries and emergency shelters. We’ll have you home in plenty of time for the game’s 6:30 p.m. kick-off!
For a “soupah” time, admission is just $10 for adults, kids ages 6 to 12 are $5 and kids five and under are free. For more information, visit www.chowdafest.org.
