Donor Recognition Reception
On Sept. 25, 2008, Connecticut Food Bank awarded its highest honor to Mark Haversat, an exceptional individual, model business owner, board member, parent and friend. Haversat, a member of the Food Bank’s Board of Directors, owns the Robbins Tesar Inc., a trade show and exhibit design company based in Bridgeport.
The Food Bank recognized Haversat during its Donor Recognition Reception, held at the Food Bank’s East Haven warehouse. The reception coincided with the inaugural Hunger Action Month, a national public awareness campaign organized by Feeding America, formerly known as America’s Second Harvest.
“Mark has the mission of CFB close to his heart,” said Nancy L. Carrington, Executive Director of Connecticut Food Bank.
Haversat received the Bill Lidell award, the highest honor presented to
a donor in recognition of exemplary service, ongoing dedication, and
significant support of the Food Bank and its mission to alleviate
hunger in Connecticut.

Additionally, the Food Bank honored the late Joseph Ashby with a Partnership Award for his selfless commitment to the Food Bank’s Waterbury warehouse.
These awards, recognizing the dedication to helping neighbors in need, were given to significant donors of food, funds and time.
