Nearly half a million people in Connecticut struggle with hunger. You have an opportunity to understand that struggle and learn how you can help.
Hunger 101 is a Connecticut Food Bank interactive group learning experience that gives the more fortunate among us a taste of what food insecurity—or hunger—really is.
Hunger 101 participants walk in someone else’s shoes and see firsthand what it’s like to struggle with poverty and food insecurity in Connecticut. Hunger 101 captures the daily stress of hunger as you learn how to feed a family for a day with no or limited resources.
Hunger 101 is a group learning experience for people age 12 and older. The food bank can deliver the program at your site or at one of our facilities. This is a 60-minute experience ideal for 25-30 participants but can be adapted for smaller or larger groups.
