Wallingford resident Elaine Lauria volunteers with the Connecticut Food Bank as a receptionist and also does data entry work for our financial development team. Development Coordinator Stephanie Decker spent some time with Elaine to get some details about why she gives her time to the Connecticut Food Bank.

Elaine Lauria pullout quote

What brought you to the Connecticut Food Bank to volunteer?

Hunger is an issue Elaine has always had an interest in. She tries to donate or volunteer for the cause wherever she can. Elaine also loves to give gifts from The HungerSite, which helps fund hunger relief charities. She says the gifts bring awareness to her friends and families. As a resident of Wallingford, Elaine noticed construction of our distribution center on Research Parkway and knew it would be a great fit for her to volunteer here.

What do you like best about volunteering here?

Elaine says the people are the best – visitors from Connecticut Food Bank member programs, Connecticut Food Bank staff and all the other volunteers she sees each week.
